Transcend Stilus, Maria

Problem: There are many types of artist, figure drawing, painters, sketchers etc. There are times where the drawing you are about to create needs to be used for online purposes or to create a slide portfolio. You can always use the tablet but not every one can get use to the feeling. The texture is not there and it is not portable when you need it in that instant.

Solution: A mechanical pencil-like device with the same texture and easy to use on the go.

New-Product Strategy: The Transcend Stilus is an user friendly mechanical pencil that can be used anywhere on any paper surface and gives you the option of lead, charcoal or ink. It has a chip within the mechanical pencil that reads every stroke or dot that the user creates. Easy to send it to a computer. It comes with usb cable and a variety of higher capacity of memory. The purpose of the product is to give artist the opportunity to have a portable drawing device with them, where they can use it anywhere as well as to have that information in the chip and save it on a PC file. The device will come with chargeable batteries, usb cable and two different memory cards to insert. The only cons will be any mistake an user makes will be picked up by the device and will not be capable of erasing in the chip, on the physical form it may but the device will not pick it up. However, it will have the choice to be opened up with any programs such as photo shopped etc to do any correcting.

Idea Generation: This product was created out of the need of customers who need a faster and traditional feeling while creating art, and capable of transferring the work of art into any computer without the use of a tablet to create what they want on the computer.

Idea Screening: I believe this product would come in handy and become a popular item for those who enjoy a faster way to create something anywhere without the need of a tablet/computer in hand. It would rate well and show success, before releasing it would be better if more in depth description and visual tools for the consumer to react to would be acquired.

Business Analysis: If there are hasty, traditional artists out there trying to get the hang of tablets and are unable to use them at any moment when inspiration strikes and pass it to computers, the demand for this product would be quite grand.

Development: It would consist of: a non-bulky, sleek and slightly heavier than a normal pencil, device, with a clicker on the top to inform the use of it, with two different memory cards (you can get various memory cards) and a USB cable. A catchy logo would be printed on the device for a hook-- customers love pretty looking designs.

Test Marketing: It would be advertise online for reviews and target art schools to test it out on students as well as professional artists before selling it online or in stores.

Commercialization: After receiving feedback and the reviews from online and schools, we will commence production and ship products to art crafts stores and common known stores. A few samples will be sent to schools to have it known to the public and keep advertising the product to our consumers.
